Dr. Bennett ( Buz) Romanoff recently relocated to the Phoenix area from Toledo Ohio. He is a graduate of the Ohio State University College of Medicine and did his Internal Medicine internship at Mount Sinai of Cleveland, Ohio. He completed his residency in ophthalmology at the University of Wisconsin where he served as chief resident. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology and is an active member of the American Medical Association. He is a lifetime fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He stopped doing major eye surgery in 2023 and is now practicing as a medical ophthalmologist. His main interests are dry eye syndrome, glaucoma, and medical ophthalmology conditions, as well as prescribing glasses. While in Toledo, he was a clinical assistant instructor of ophthalmology at the University of Toledo College of Medicine where he taught in the classroom as well as proctoring residents. He served as the chief of the department of ophthalmology, since the 1990's, at Promedica Flower Hospital. He authored many ophthalmology related articles in local newspapers and health related magazines.
During his career in Toledo he served on numerous community boards including the Toledo Opera and the Toledo Symphony. He was the president of the Lucas County / Toledo Academy of Medicine that served all the physicians in Northwest Ohio. He is still involved on the alumni board of the ophthalmology department of the University of Wisconsin and has served as its president.
Dr. Romanoff and his wife moved out west to be closer to most of their children and grandchildren who live out here. They love hiking and mountain trekking as well as domestic and international travel. He has been a swimmer and has swam competitively in the Masters Swimming organization. Photography is his main hobby. He is very happy to be part of the Tozer Lee Eye Center team as a medical ophthalmologist.
Dr. Romanoff is accepting new patients in the Mesa and Scottsdale offices.
Dr. Kevin Tozer is a corneal refractive surgeon whose practice includes corneal, refractive, minimally invasive glaucoma, collagen cross-linking, and cataract surgery.
Dr. Lee is a cornea, cataract, and refractive surgeon who specializes in the surgical and medical management of anterior segment diseases.
Dr. Dankha is an optometrist who specializes in providing comprehensive routine eyecare and post-operative medical care.
Dr. Michelle Hammond is an optometrist who provides comprehensive eye care. Her special fields of interest include the management of ocular disease, dry eye, post-operative care, and fitting various types of contact lenses such as multifocal, monovision, and rigid gas-permeable lenses.
Dr. Dennis Cooper is an ophthalmologist with over 40 years of experience. He has joined Tozer Lee Eye Center after many years of solo practice in Scottsdale, AZ.
Dr. Christina Sorenson provides comprehensive optometric care with an emphasis on diagnosis, treatment and management of ocular disease. She also has an extensive background in contact lens fitting such as monovision, multifocal lenses, and scleral lenses.
Dr. Romanoff joins Tozer Lee Eye Center after a previous long career in private practice in Toledo, Ohio. Dr. Romanoff practices medical ophthalmology with a special interest in glaucoma and dry eye syndrome.
